Created in 1991 by Gerald Armin, Fairbank Productions has to date produced the European Premiers of Lipstick Dreams (Greenwich Studio Theatre, Shaw Theatre London). Leader of the Pack - The Ellie Greenwich Musical (Duke Of York's Theatre). I Can Hear Music (Gilded Balloon Edinburgh Festival). off Broadway transfer of Swingtime Canteen (Kings Head Theatre). World Premier of Burning Blue, (Kings Head Theatre, Theatre Royal Haymarket London) winning two Olivier Awards. No 1 National UK tour of Leader of The Pack – The Ellie Greenwich Musical. The USA and Irish Premier of Tom Crean – Antarctic Explorer (The New York International Fringe Festival ‘03, Dublin Fringe Festival ’03). Sunset Bitch (New York International Fringe Festival ’05. European premier of Danny and Sylvia (Jermyn Street Theatre London). Fairbank Productions has been the lead producer of Tom Crean - Antarctic Explorer for the past six years which has seen the show successfully tour throughout Ireland and the USA, and receive its UK Premier at the 2006 Edinburgh Fringe Festival where it won a Fringe First Award. 2007 saw the production received its Australian premier at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, via seasons in Florida, Malta, Geneva and Dubai and played an extended eight week sell-out season at the The Irish Repertory Theatre New York before embarking on its first UK tour. It has since played a season at the New End Theatre London and has returned five times to play sell-out weeks in both Dublin and Cork. Play on Words Theatre was formed in 1990 and is based at The Brook Theatre, Chatham, Kent UK with support from Medway Council. The company has produced : ‘Prostitutes Only Marry in May’ (formerly Sister Queens) tours of N. Ireland and Scotland; Tom Crean - Antarctic Explorer (2001-11), touring Ireland, UK, Australia, USA including a Fringe First @ The Edinburgh Festival’06; Galway Girl and Melody for Medway Fuse Festival 2009. It is touring Ireland this year with: O’Sullivan Beara - The Last Gaelic Chieftain. It’s Educational arm has toured Romeo & Juliet, Macbeth and numerous workshop performances on many of Shakespeare’s other plays as well as performances on science and history for schools. It runs drama summer schools in the Channel Islands and is resident directing company for The Brook Youth Theatre, Chatham. Its production ‘Prostitutes Only Marry in May’ (the relationship between Qn. Eliz 1 & Mary Qn of Scots) will be seen at Waterloo East Theatre, London, later this year. www.playonwordstheatre.com
